Read here about our campaigning on swimming and other matters concerning the Ladies Pond and Hampstead Heath. Our legal action to fight discriminatory charges for swimming on Hampstead Heath is awaiting the outcome of Judicial Review. Thanks to everyone who supported and contributed financially to our campaign.

The KLPA is independent of the City of London and the Hampstead Heath management. It is run on a purely voluntary basis for and by pond users, there are no paid staff. Officers and the committee are elected annually at the AGM, which is usually held in March.

Our priority is to preserve the pond with its peaceful, natural qualities and to maintain it as a women’s swimming place. Occasionally this means we need to lobby or campaign.

Otherwise, we exist to provide information and encourage women to enjoy the pond. We produce a newsletter for members about three times a year and organise a variety of events for fun, including a festive swim at midday on New Year’s Day.

Membership is open to all women and the annual subscription is £5.00.

Please note that membership does not cover the cost of swimming at the pond, details of which can be found here along with opening times and other visitor information.
